TEMPE - Sun Devil Lacrosse (2-2) came out on top, 19-16, in Tuesday's high-scoring matinee action against Marquette (3-2), avenging last season's overtime defeat in Milwaukee. Arizona State was led by senior attackers Jordyn Behar and Teagan Ng who combined for 11 goals and three assists in the win at Sun Devil Lacrosse Stadium.

Ng's five goals have her within five goals of the program's career goal-scoring record that is currently held by Kerri Clayton (146). Attackers Lydia Oldknow and Addie Shevitz each tacked on hat tricks to round off ASU's near 20-goal performance at home on Tuesday.

Freshman goalkeeper Gabriella Henry got her first career start in net and recorded five saves in 38 minutes of work en route to the first win of her career. For the second time this season, all goalies saw action after relief appearances from junior Sara Flobeck and sophomore Regan Spichiger

How it happened
The Sun Devils came out of the gate hot and netted the first four goals of the contest, spanning just seven minutes. The four goals came from four different attackers: Ng, Begar, Oldknow, and Shevitz. Marquette battled back with one goal before the quarter one buzzer sounded, and ASU held on to a 4-1 lead after one quarter played.

In the second quarter, both teams combined for 14 goals, with ASU accounting for seven and Marquette taking the other six. ASU saw its largest lead at six goals after taking a 9-3 lead, but the Golden Eagles netted four of the next five goals and ended the frame trailing just 11-7 at halftime.

Marquette outscored ASU 6-5 in the third quarter; however, the Sun Devils outshot the visitors 12-5 and also secured seven draw controls to Marquette’s four. Flobeck took over in net at the 6:55 mark and recorded just one save in the frame. The lead for the Sun Devils was 16-13 after three quarters of play.

The fourth quarter saw just five shots on goal for both teams, and each managed three goals in the frame. ASU saw Oldknow and Behar finish their scorind days, and Teagan Lowery netted ASU's final goal of the contest with 5:16 remaining. Spichiger played the entirety of the frame and managed two saves in clutch minutes near the end to secure the win 19-16.
