TEMPE – Sun Devil Lacrosse is set for its home opener on Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. MST, taking on a ranked opponent for the first time this season in No. 22 Denver. The game is available to stream on ESPN+ and live stats are available via Stat Broadcast

ASU is coming off a 2025 season in which it posted a dominant 7-2 home record en route to the program’s single-season and single-game attendance records. All time in home openers, the Sun Devils are 8-0.

Sun Devil Outlook:
In the first contest of the season last weekend against former Pac-12 foe Oregon, ASU held a lead up to the five-minute mark of the fourth quarter before falling 12-11 in overtime.

Despite the loss, ASU had a trio tally hat tricks (Lydia Oldknow, Teagan Ng, Jordyn Behar) to start the season. Junior midfielder Anna Viglione picked up where she left off in 2025 with 11 draw controls in the contest.

In the Big 12’s preseason awards junior midfielder Anna Viglione was selected Unanimously as the Preseason Draw Specialist of the Year, and senior attacker Jordyn Behar was tabbed with Preseason Attacker of the year honors. Six were selected to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team as well.

Scouting the Opponent:
Sunday's contest is the second of the season for No. 22 Denver, as they faced USC on Feb. 12 and defeated the Trojans 15-4 before the trip to Tempe. Current associate head coach Taylor VanThof is the sister of Sun Devil head coach Taryn VanThof Puls. In 2025, Denver finished with a 14-6 record and was 6-4 in road contests. They reached the NCAA Tournament, but fell 10-4 to Stanford in the first round.

Sun Devil Notables:

  • Last week sophomore goalkeeper Regan Spichiger got her first career start and tallied seven saves.
  • Two freshmen saw minutes in the season opener against Oregon: Averie Cage and Addy Westerberg.
  • ASU is 8-0 in home openers.
  • Senior attacker Teagan Ng brings a 20-game goal-scoring streak into the game against DU after she netted three goals against Oregon.
  • With one goal, Ng would claim third place on the program’s all-time goal leaderboard. She is 16 goals shy of typing the career goals record, which is 146 set by Kerri Clayton
  • Senior attacker Lydia Oldknow owns a 39-game point-scoring streak dating back to the 2024 season. In 38 of those games, she’s scored a goal.
  • Against DU, ASU is 0-3 all time, and averages a 10-point margin of defeat.
