FRISCO, Texas – Sun Devil Women’s Golf legend Azahara Munoz was announced to be inducted into the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Players Hall of Fame, as part of its 2027 Hall of Fame class Monday morning. Muñoz is elected to become the 92nd member of the WGCA Players Hall of Fame from her exceptional achievements and contributions to the game of golf.

The induction ceremony will take place Monday, December 7 at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada during the annual WGCA Convention.

A champion at all levels of golf, Munoz has won at the amateur, collegiate and professional level and was inducted into the Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024. As a Sun Devil, Munoz won the 2008 NCAA Individual Championship in a playoff with a clutch 25-foot putt to become the ninth Sun Devil to win a National Championship. One year later, Munoz helped lead ASU to the 2009 NCAA Championship, capturing its seventh in school history at the time.

Munoz is one of four Sun Devils to earn four All-American honors in the history of the Sun Devil Women’s Golf program and assembled 31 top-10 finishes in her career. She was named a recipient of the Edith Cummings Munson Award twice by the WGCA, given to the top collegiate female golfers nationally who also excel in academics.

Munoz graduated from Arizona State summa cum laude with a 3.98 GPA in psychology. Additionally, she was a Four-time NGCA Academic All-American and two-time ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-American.

Before coming to Tempe, Munoz had a successful amateur career with a win at the British Girls Championship in 2004 and the British Women’s Amateur Championship in 2009. As a professional, Munoz earned LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2010 and won five times on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and once on the LPGA tour.

Internationally, Munoz has represented her country at the highest level, helping Spain win the 2014 International Crown, played in four Solheil Cups and competed for Spain at four Olympic Games.
