NETHERLANDS – Sun Devil Women’s Golf alumnae will once again be featured for the 2026 Solheim Cup, as part of Team Europe at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands.
Anna Nordqvist is the team captain for Team Europe and will be making her 10th Solheim Cup appearance. The three-time major champion has not missed a Solheim Cup since her first in 2009. On August 26, she announced her retirement from professional golf and will embark on a new chapter of her life following this week’s Solheim Cup.
By their excellent play throughout the year in the Rolex World Golf Standings, Linn Grant and Carlota Ciganda qualified for the event by being in the top-8 among all European professionals. Team Europe will attempt to reclaim the Solheim Cup on European soil over three days of match play, starting Sept. 11-13. Coverage can be found on Golf Channel for all three days.
The 19th playing of the Solheim Cup features four, foursome matches in the morning, four ball in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday. Then, all players will participate in head-to-head matches with a winner crowned on the final day.
This will be Ciganda’s eighth straight Solheim Cup with a 12-11-4 record in her career, having not missed one since 2013. In 2023, she helped defend the cup with a tie in the final match, delivering in her home country of Spain and going 4-0-0 over the three days. Grant is appearing in her third straight Solheim Cup and has a 3-6-0 overall record. In 2023, Grant and Ciganda earned two points when playing together in foursomes.
Nordqvist served as a vice-captain in 2023 and 2024, playing in both Solheim Cups and donning a 17-15-3 overall record in her career. The first Solheim Cup took place back in 1990 and Team USA currently holds a 11-8 advantage heading into the 2026 Solheim Cup. The European team has secured the coveted Waterford Crystal trophy in three of the last four Solheim Cups.

The Solheim Cup is named in honor of Karsten and Louise Solheim, the founders of Phoenix-based Karsten Manufacturing Corporation, which makes PING golf equipment. The Solheim's were among the largest contributors to the construction of the former home of the Sun Devil Golf programs from 1994-2018, Karsten Golf Course.
