TEMPE – No. 12 Sun Devil Volleyball hosts Iowa State on Sunday, October 4, at 2 p.m. MST for its Big 12 home opener, which will be broadcast on ESPN.
How to follow and fan information
The first of four-straight home matches is this Sunday against Iowa State. The match begins at 2 p.m. MST and is Youth Day, where kids ages 12 and under will be able to receive a free volleyball plush.
The match will be on ESPN, with live stats as well. Updates will be provided on social media on X (@SunDevilVB) and Instagram (@sundevilvolleyball).
Lot 59 is free parking for those attending the volleyball match. Note that the parking structure is paid parking.
Sun Devil outlook
No. 12 Arizona State (10-3, 1-1 Big 12)
- Last week to open conference play, the Sun Devils were on the road. They started with a loss at West Virginia before bouncing back with a win at Cincinnati.
- Two Sun Devils have led the team in kills all season. Senior opposite hitter Noemie Glover is first in kills on the squad with 183, while junior outside hitter Una Vajagić is right behind her with 176. Both have notched double-digit kills in the last seven matches in a row. Additionally, Vajagić has had four double-doubles in the last five matches.
- The setting duties have been split as of late between senior Isabella Costantini and freshman Elle Mottola. Costantini notched 30-plus assists in the last two matches, her first time surpassing that number this season.
- Leading the defense in the back row has been junior libero Faith Frame. She has 142 digs on the year and has notched double-digit digs eight times this season. Against West Virginia, she earned a season-high 21 digs.
Opponent outlook
Iowa State (8-5, 2-0 Big 12)
- The Cyclones opened Big 12 play with a win at Texas Tech and a win at home over UCF. Both matches went to five sets.
- Last season, Iowa State gave Arizona State its only conference loss. The Cyclones won in five sets at home for the upset. Overall, ASU leads 2-1 in the all-time series.
