TEMPE – Sun Devil Women’s Tennis and head coach Jamea Jackson has announced its 2026 schedule Friday morning, including the annual Thunderbird Invitational held at Whiteman Tennis Center.
The team returns seven of the nine members that earned a share of the Big 12 regular season title in 2026, including Big 12 Player of the Year Emilija Tverijonaite who won 32 singles matches last season.
The reigning Big 12 Champions open their fall season in Cary, North Carolina at the ITA All-American Championships starting Sept. 19 and ending on Sept. 27. Various Sun Devils will also be competing in San Diego on the campus of the University of San Diego at the SoCal Champs from Sept. 24-27. The first professional tournament that select Sun Devils will compete in the ITF Las Vegas W35 in sin city.
The team will then go back to San Diego to take part in the ITA Regionals on Oct. 15-20 on the campuses of San Diego and San Diego State. Senior Emilija Tverijonaite has placed third at ITA Regionals for two straight seasons and will attempt to qualify for NCAA's for the second time in her career.
A pair of professional tournaments will feature trips to Sumter, S.C. at the ITF Sumter W15 and the midwest at the Norman W35 in Norman, Oklahoma. Both set for Oct. 26- Nov. 1.
Back in Tempe during Halloween weekend, the team will host the Thunderbird Invitational from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, hosting a number of teams at Whiteman Tennis Center. Admission is free and matches will be all day long.
Following the Thunderbird Invitational, a number of Sun Devils will be competing at the ITF Hilton Head W15 in Hilton Head, South Carolina or the ITF Westin in Westin, Florida.
In the last ITA event for the fall set for Nov. 5-8, ITA Sectionals are set to take place in Los Angeles while ITA Masters will compete at Rome, Georgia.
To end the fall, the NCAA Individual and Doubles Championships are set for Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia at the Dan Migill Tennis Complex.
