The Sun Devil men's golf season will get started Sept. 12-13 at the Sahalee Players Invitational. The summer was full of things happening, as the roster is up and running (with a late addition), the Thunderbird field is set and several Sun Devil had great moments this summer. Here are a bunch of things to know about Sun Devil men's golf heading to 2026-27.

Kris Kim joins the roster
Surrey native Kris Kim joined the roster this summer as he made his PGA Tour debut at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas in April of 2024 and shot a 3-under 68 in the first round and became the youngest player to make a PGA cut since 2015. He won the England U-14 title easily in 2021 and claimed the 2023 Fairhaven Trophy by six shots and the then earned the McGregor Trophy (English Boy's Under-16 Championship). He also won the Boys Amateur title in August and shot a course record 65 at the European Boys' Team Championships at the Golf Club of Genea. Kim won the European Boys' Individual Championship and went undefeated at the Junior Ryder Cup in Rome as he earned three wins and a tie in Europe's first victory since 2006 and included 5 and 4 win over Miles Russell.

The schedule
The Sun Devils are scheduled to play in at least 12 tournaments in 11 states, as it will visit Washington, Illinois, Texas, Utah and North Carollina in the fall, followed by spring trips to Hawaii, Cabo, California, Florida, Missouri, Texas and then will host NCAA regional play at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa May 17-18. The NCAA Championships are back at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa Carlsbad, held May 28-June 2. The Big 12 Championship will be held April 26-28 at Big Easy Ranch in Columbus, Texas.

Great summer for Bowen Mauss
Just like he won the 127th Utah State Amateur in 2025, Bowen Mauss became the first back-to-back winner of the world’s oldest, continuously held, amateur championship with a convincing win in the 128th version in July. He became the first repeat winner since Sun Devil Preston Summerhays in 2018 and 2019. Mauss, from Corner Canyon High School, topped thirty-eight-year-old mid-amateur Cameron Crawford at Soldier Hollow with a great early start, winning holes three and four, and he never looked back. Mauss eagled the seventh hole and had a five-hole lead after the first 18.  He then advanced to the round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur.
