Sun Devil Men’s Basketball Head Coach Randy Bennett continues to build an impressive staff ahead of the first year of his tenure in Tempe.
Chase Bennett has joined the program and will serve as the Director of Operations. Tautvilas Tubelis and Joe Few have also been announced as Graduate Assistants. Parker Zidel will remain on staff as a recruiting assistant.
“We are thrilled to be able to add four bright minds to our staff who will be dedicated to helping elevate the program,” Coach Bennett reflected. “This is a hard-working and selfless group of individuals eager to learn and contribute in any way they can. I am excited to get to work with each of them.”
Chase Bennett, Director of Operations
Chase Bennett will serve as the Director of Operations for Sun Devil Men’s Basketball. Responsibilities of the role include handling the day-to-day logistics, administrative functions, coordinating travel, and managing the schedules of a program.
Bennett spent the past four seasons as a member of the Men’s Basketball team at Linfield College. While with the Wildcats, he was an extension of the coaching staff on the court. Bennett collaborated with the staff to implement process-oriented strategies focusing on team building, situational leadership, and on-court adjustments. He saw action in 88 total games over four seasons at Linfield, starting in 59.
“I am so excited for the opportunity to work with the Sun Devil Men’s Basketball program,” Chase Bennett commented. “It is truly a dream come true to be able to work with and learn from a staff this decorated. I have also enjoyed my time in the Valley and look forward to building relationships and making connections in the community.”
During his time as a student-athlete, Bennett utilized the offseason to take advantage of opportunities to build his resume in the game. He was the Basketball Camp Commissioner and Coach at three different Saint Mary’s Men’s Basketball Summer Camps from 2021 to 25. That position tasked him with creating day-to-day plans, assisting in logistical coordination, schedule management, and event oversight for all team camps. Bennett was also the Basketball Camp Co-Director and Evaluator for Linfield College Youth Basketball Camp and Elite Boys Basketball Prospect Camp from 2024 to 25.
Known as a team leader while at Linfield, Bennett earned team captain status in each of his final three seasons. He also excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 3.98 GPA while contributing positively to the program’s overall culture. He earned a BS in Finance while Minoring in Economics and Sport Management.
"Chase has been around the game his whole life and has seen what it takes to succeed in this profession,” Coach Bennett remarked. “He is a relentless worker who will fit in seamlessly with our staff. His familiarity with our staff and players is vital during a year with so much change. We are excited to have him in Tempe.”
Tautvilas Tubelis, Graduate Assistant
Tautvilas Tubelis will serve as a Graduate Assistant for Sun Devil Men’s Basketball. Tubelis is no stranger to how Coach Bennett operates, as he was in the same role for the past two seasons at Saint Mary’s. During that time, Saint Mary’s combined to go 56-12 (82.4%) and 23-3 (88.5%) in conference play. The Gaels advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of the two years Tubelis was with the program. He played a major role in securing the commitment of fellow Lithuanian native Paulius Murauskas, a transfer from Arizona that emerged as an All-Conference player in 2025-26. Tubelis also worked alongside Associate Head Coach Joe Rahon and Assistant Coach EJ Rowland in Moraga on Coach Bennett’s staff.
"The opportunity to follow Coach Bennett to Arizona State and to work with an amazing staff was too good to pass up,” Tubelis remarked. “I am looking forward to continuing to learn from the coaches and help the program in any way I can.”
Tubelis supported daily operations, including on-court player development, prospect evaluation, and film breakdown, while at Saint Mary's. He was also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with recruits, families, and coaches while contributing to the development of recruiting databases, visit logistics, and adherence to NCAA compliance standards. He also assisted in planning and coaching at the Randy Bennett Summer Basketball Camp, working with youth athletes from diverse backgrounds to develop fundamental skills, foster mentorship, and promote the program’s culture and values.
Prior to his time with the Gaels, Tubelis was a member of the Arizona Men’s Basketball team for three seasons.
“I got to see what an impact Taut (Tautvilas) can have first-hand,” Coach Bennett reflected. “He was an important asset while we were at St. Mary’s, so we are happy to get to continue working with him in Tempe. He has made so many connections in the game, both domestic and abroad, which make him valuable to our recruiting efforts.”
Joe Few, Graduate Assistant
Joe Few will serve as a Graduate Assistant for Sun Devil Men's Basketball. Few joins the staff following a four-year playing career with Gonzaga. Few was a reserve guard for the Bulldogs from 2021-25, playing for legendary Head Coach and 2026 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Mark Few. During his time in Spokane, Few and the Bulldogs compiled a 112-27 (81%) overall record, going 55-9 (86%) in conference play while claiming three WCC Championships. That included one Elite Eight Appearance, a pair of Sweet 16 runs, and eight NCAA Tournament wins in four campaigns. He saw action in 42 games during his time in a Bulldogs uniform. Few has been around a winning culture and has experienced success his entire life. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Gonzaga in May 2025.
"I am grateful for the chance to join the Sun Devil Men's Basketball staff," Few said. "This is a great next step in my career because of the amount of respect I have for Coach Bennett and the way his teams always develop and compete at a high level."
Since 2021, Few had been serving as an AAU Basketball Assistant Coach in Spokane for the Northwest Premier program prior to accepting his position with Arizona State. He was in responsible for coaching and mentoring a group of 10-12 athletes, helping them travel to tournament locations while supporting players and coaching staff with game prepartion. While a student-athlete at Gonzaga, he was also the Camp Director of the Gonzaga Men's Basketball Camp from 2020-24. In that role, he helped organize and lead basketball skills camps for 100+ campers. Few worked alongside Gonzaga coaches and support staff to direct drills, coordinate scrimmages, and schedule daily activities.
Following his graduation from Gonzaga, Few entered the Insurance field, utilizing his Business degree with Finance concentration. He spent time as a Registered Representative for State Farm, serving in the role for eight months. He decided to transition into coaching, a profession he is extremely familiar with. Few is the son of Mark Few, who is getting ready to enter his 28th season as Gonzaga's Men's Basketball Head Coach.
"It was an easy decision to have Joe join the staff," Coach Bennett mentioned. "Not only is he extremely familiar with the college basketball landscape, he has experienced so much success at this level and understands what it takes to maintain it. It is clear he has tremendous energy and a passion for the game."
Parker Zidel, Recruiting Assistant
Parker Zidel has been elevated to Recruiting Assistant for Sun Devil Men’s Basketball. He enters his fourth year with the program, most recently serving as a Graduate Assistant during the 2025-26 season. Zidel originally joined the program as a Student Manager back in 2023, eventually working his way up to Head Student Manager and Student Video Coordinator prior to the 2024-25 season.
He graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State in the spring of 2025, double-majoring in Sports Business and Business Administration. Zidel will be receiving his master's degree in organizational leadership from ASU at the end of the summer.
“Growing up in the Valley as a lifelong Sun Devil fan, it is incredibly special to continue my journey with the men’s basketball program at my alma mater,” Zidel noted. "I’m grateful to Coach Bennett and his staff for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the program’s success while continuing to learn from such an accomplished group.”
As a Graduate Assistant in 2025-26, he was tasked with overseeing the video department while supporting the Director of Operations. Additionally, Zidel was in charge of coding and analyzing practice and game film.
While the role might be different for Zidel for the upcoming season, he is extremely familiar with how the Sun Devil Men’s Basketball program functions. He worked in conjunction with the staff each of the past three years, providing game analytics and statistical insights to support coaching decisions and player performance. Zidel assisted with scouts, particularly with the Defensive Coordinator to analyze opponents, identify tendencies, and develop defensive game plans.
Other duties he carried out included putting together personnel evaluations on opponents, high school recruits, and transfer portal prospects. Zidel supported recruiting operations through prospect identification, recruiting board management, transfer portal evaluations, official visits, and roster management.
He also served as the primary liaison for NBA front office personnel and scouts attending Sun Devil practices and games, coordinating their visits and ensuring they had the resources needed throughout the evaluation process. Zidel was also involved in on-court player development during practices, individual workouts, games, and skill development sessions.
Zidel’s experience expands beyond the collegiate level. During NBA Summer League, he served as a Basketball Operations Intern with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he gained firsthand experience with the day-to-day operations of an NBA organization. Working under General Manager Jon Horst and the basketball operations staff, Zidel assisted with team operations during practices, games, and team meetings through regular communication with front office personnel and coaches. He also supported player evaluation workouts and the training and equipment staff, providing him with applicable experience for future roles at Arizona State. Since the Valley Suns’ inaugural year in 2024, Zidel has also assisted with the franchise’s G League tryouts, supporting the day-to-day logistics of the tryout process while providing on-court instruction.
“Parker has been important in our transition this offseason,” Coach Bennett stated. “He was one of the first people to help us get settled in Tempe and has been essential in building the roster for the upcoming season. We are elated that he has decided to stay with the program, as he will be a key piece of our operation moving forward.”
