TEMPE – In keeping with recent tradition for Sun Devil Volleyball to name a home nonconference tournament after notable people in the program’s history, this season’s will be named the Snyder-Park Classic after legendary Head Coach Patti Snyder-Park.
The tournament will be held from September 10-12 at Desert Financial Arena. Oregon, San Diego and UC Davis will be the teams brought in. Arizona State will face UC Davis on September 10 at 6 p.m. MST for the home opener, Oregon on September 11 at 6 p.m. and San Diego on September 12 at 5 p.m. The full schedule can be seen on the schedule page.
Snyder-Park was the head coach for the program from 1989 to 2002 and earned a record of 216-181. She was the first coach in team history to be named a conference coach of the year twice, winning the Pac-10 Coach of the Year honor in 1990 and 1992. She had winning records in all but five seasons, with her best record being a 23-8 mark in 1992. In the postseason, she helped the Sun Devils win a game in the NCAA Tournament six times in seven total appearances.
Under the tutelage of Snyder-Park, there were two All-Americans: Christine Garner and Amanda Burbridge, both of whom are inductees in the Sun Devil Sports Hall of Fame.
The 2026 season begins on August 22 for the Sun Devils against Texas at the AVCA First Serve weekend.
