TEMPE – Senior Kimberly Smith from Sun Devil Gymnastics earned a spot on the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team after a strong year both in the gym and in the classroom.

This was Smith’s first academic all-district nod, adding to her 2026 awards. She was on the 2026 All-Big 12 Teams for the all-around and bars, and she also earned a Big 12 Gymnast of the Week honor as well.

To be nominated for an all-district award, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December.

The award was previously from CoSIDA, but the organization recently changed its name to College Sports Communicators. For the complete all-district list, head to CSC's website.

Smith anchored the team in 2026, competing in the all-around in all 11 regular-season meets and in the Big 12 Championship. She had a season and career high of 39.475 in the all-around, which came against BYU.

Smith also won 15 event titles this season: six in all-around, four on floor, four on bars and one on vault. Her most consistent events were bars and floor, earning a 9.800 or higher in every meet except for two. Smith scored a 9.900 or better five times, four of which came on floor.
