EL PASO, Texas – After 25 straight games at Farrington Stadium to open the 2026 regular season, the Sun Devil Softball program will play its first contest away from Tempe when Arizona State takes on UTEP in the Lone Star State on Tuesday, March 10.
GAME SCHEDULE:

TELEVISION:
Sebastian Perez-Navarro and Benjamin Grajeda will serve as the play-by-play and color analyst, respectively, for Tuesday’s ESPN+ broadcast.
THE OPPOSITION:
- UTEP will enter Tuesday afternoon’s non-conference matchup against Arizona State with a 9-12 record, including a 7-9 mark at Helen of Troy Softball Complex in El Paso.
- The Miners are coming off a 3-2 victory in the finale of a three-game CUSA series against Sam Houston on Sunday, March 8, when scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a one-out Kenna Carranza single to left field that scored Marissa Burchard from second base.
- The win was the first for UTEP in a home game since Sunday, Feb. 15, when the Miners beat Idaho State, 5-4, on a one-out single by Halle Hogan that scored Carranza from second in the bottom of the seventh.
- Tuesday’s meeting will mark the first time Arizona State has played UTEP in El Paso since Wednesday, April 9, 2025, when the Sun Devils took a two-game doubleheader: 8-0 in six innings to begin the day, before closing the action by taking the second game 5-2.
LEADING OFF:
- Arizona State’s stretch of 25 consecutive home games to open the 2026 season is the longest streak of consecutive home games to begin a new season by the Sun Devils since the 2013 squad started its season with 26 straight games at Farrington Stadium.
- In 2013, the Sun Devils did not play their first road game until March 14, when they beat Cal State Fullerton, 9-0, at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.
- ASU opened the 2013 season with 21 consecutive wins en route to a 25-1 record before hitting the road for the first time.
- Kenzie Brown’s next pitching appearance will mark the 76th of her Sun Devil career, tying her with Shawn Ritchey (1979-82) for 18th on the program’s career pitching appearances list.
- Brown’s current 75 career pitching appearances are the most by an Arizona State softball pitcher since Marissa Schuld totaled 74 over a three-season career in Tempe from 2022 to 2024.
