LOS ANGELES – No. 5 Sun Devil Water Polo fell just short in the highly anticipated, top-5 showdown against No. 3 UCLA on Saturday afternoon at Spieker Aquatic Center.

Arizona State (23-5, 1-4 MPSF) never found its footing after an early deficit, eventually falling, 10-7, against UCLA (17-2, 4-1 MPSF).

Leading the charge for ASU was sophomore attacker Itziar Almeda, who delivered another standout performance with four goals and one assist. Following Saturday's outing, she pushed her season goal total to an impressive 53.

Freshman two-meter defender Sydney Krushen recorded her first multi-goal game as a Sun Devil, adding a pair of goals to the scoresheet.
