TEMPE – On the road for a third-straight weekend, No. 11 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball will face conference opponents at the Big 12 Preview on March 27-28, hosted by TCU.

Arizona State will face No. 19 South Carolina first on Friday at 6 a.m. MST/8 a.m. CDT before playing the host team No. 7 TCU at 2 p.m. MST/4 p.m. CDT. ASU will play one dual on Saturday, and the opponent will be determined based on how teams perform on Friday.

Sun Devil outlook
No. 11 Arizona State (12-6)

  • It was another tough weekend for the Sand Devils as they lost their three ranked matchups to No. 4 Texas, No. 6 Florida State and No. 12 LSU. However, ASU was able to get a win over Georgia State.
  • Against ranked teams this season, Arizona State is 6-6. The Sun Devils remain undefeated against unranked teams under head coach Kristen Glattfelder
  • Senior Arden Besecker and sophomore Zoë Taylor have been a strong force for Arizona State this season, going 14-4 so far and leading the team in wins. They have primarily played on court three, going 12-2 there. Over the weekend, they went 2-2, with Besecker picking up her 50th career win and moving into 10th place in the ASU record book for career individual wins.
  • Also moving up the record book is senior Daniella Kensinger. She also went 2-2 over the weekend and moved into ninth place for career wins while at Arizona State with 51.

Opponent outlook
No. 19 South Carolina (13-3)

  • The Gamecocks went 3-1 over the weekend, with the lone loss coming against UAB. Their best win of the season so far was against No. 17 North Florida to open the year, winning 3-2.
  • In the all-time series, ASU leads South Carolina 3-2. These teams met last year, with the Sun Devils winning 4-1 at home.

No. 7 TCU (12-4)

  • The Horned Frogs, defending national champions, have lost their last three duals, which were all top-10 matchups and all by a 3-2 score. 
  • Earlier this season, ASU and TCU played on opening day, with the Sun Devils getting the 4-1 upset. In the all-time series, the Horned Frogs lead 8-3.
