IRVING – On Wednesday, the Big 12 Conference announced the lacrosse weekly awards of the season for week six, and Sun Devil Lacrosse’s junior midfielder Anna Viglione secured Draw Specialist of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The Sun Devils split the week of games with a 14-8 win over Akron that was followed by a 20-16 loss to Mercer on the road.

Viglione tallied back-to-back games with double-digit draw controls after tallying 18 against Akron en route to the team out-drawing the Zips 20-2. Against Mercer, Viglione recorded 12 draw controls. Following the game, she became the second active D1 player in the NCAA to reach the 400-career draw control mark.

Among the Big 12 ranks, Viglione is first in total draw controls with 137, which is 16 more than the next highest player. Her 13.70 draw controls per game is the second-best individual mark in the NCAA and leads ASU to being the second-ranked team in draw controls per game.

She is the seventh weekly honor for ASU this season, following Teagan Ng (attacker), Regan Spichiger (goalie), Jordyn Behar (attacker), Anna Viglione (draw specialist), Gabriella Henry (freshman), and Averie Cage (freshman), who have been recognized by the Big 12 this season.
