IRVING, Texas – Three from Sun Devil Gymnastics have earned Big 12 Conference awards, with senior Kimberly Smith earning spots on the All-Big 12 Team on both bars and in the all-around, as well as Kylee Bromley and Safia El Mammann being named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
This is the second year in a row Smith has been on the All-Big 12 Team for the all-around and her first on bars. In its second year in the conference, Arizona State has its first representatives on the freshman team with Bromley and El Mammann.
The teams feature the top six ranked athletes in vault, bars, beam, floor and the all-around, based on the National Qualifying Score (NQS). For the freshman team, the coaches vote for the gymnasts. For the complete list of honorees, head to the conference website.
Smith is having a strong senior campaign. The senior from Lake Forest, Calif. leads the team in event title wins with 15, six of which are in the all-around. She also has four titles on bars, four on floor and one on vault. Against BYU this year, she notched a career high in the all-around of 39.475, which earned her Big 12 Gymnast of the Week. She has four scores of 9.900 or better, and on bars she has scored a 9.825 or better in all but the first meet of the year. Similarly, on vault and floor she has been consistent as well, scoring below a 9.800 just twice on each event. In the all-around, she has scored below a 39.300 just three times, including four scores of 39.400 or better.
Bromley started her collegiate career on a high note. She has six event titles this year, three of which came in her first college meet. The freshman from Runnemede, N.J. has been in the all-around five times and has competed on bars in every meet. On bars, she has notched at least a 9.800 in all but three meets. Beam and floor have been her other consistent events, competing in most meets on those events. Her best score of the year is a 9.875, which has happened on floor twice.
El Mammann has been a steady force for the Sun Devils this season. She has been in the lead-off spot on vault all season, scoring over a 9.800 six times with her earning her personal best of 9.850 three times. She has also competed on beam in all but two meets, her career high also being a 9.850 on that event.
The Gym Devils are competing at the 2026 Big 12 Gymnastics Championships presented by Allstate this Saturday, March 21. ASU is in the afternoon session in a dual meet with West Virginia at 11 a.m. MST/12 p.m. MDT.
