INDIAN WELLS - Taking the courts for the first time this month, No. 19 Sun Devil Men's Tennis is set to participate in the second-annual UTR Collegiate Championships at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and will face No. 27 Pepperdine on Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m. MST.
The second and final round of matches concludes on Sunday, March 15. With a win, ASU would face the winner of Baylor/Memphis at 10 a.m. MST, and a loss would have them facing the loser of the match at 2 p.m. MST.
Last season, ASU beat No. 26 Princeton 4-2, and then upset No. 13 Baylor 4-3 to earn the inagurual UTR Collegiate Championship crown.
The Sun Devils have already faced Pepperdine this season, and it was the Waves that handed the team their first loss of the season, the defeat coming in 4-0 fashion. Since then, ASU has posted a 3-3 record in its last six matches and has a 12-3 record on the season.
Pepperdine is 8-6 in 14 contests this spring and has won three of their last four matches to be over the .500 mark. On the road, the Waves are 3-3, while on neutral ground the team is 1-1.
