TEMPE - Sun Devil Lacrosse wraps up its seven-game homestand, this time welcoming the Akron Zips to town on Wednesday, March 11. First draw is slated for 10 a.m. MST at Sun Devil Lacrosse Stadium. Fans can tune in on ESPN+, and stats will be available via StatBroadcast.
Sunday marks the first game in ASU’s history against Akron, and will be the team’s fourth time facing off against a Mid-American Conference opponent after a trio of games against Detroit Mercy.
Sun Devil Outlook:
Behind a career-high eight goals from senior attacker Lydia Oldknow, ASU defeated Bucknell 19-12 on Sunday to improve to 4-3. Oldknow’s eight goals tie a program single-game high and make her the third Sun Devil to achieve this feat.
Another showing of ASU’s draw dominance ensued, as junior midfielder Anna Viglione notched 20 draw controls en route to the Sun Devils recording 26 draw controls to Bucknell’s seven, marking 20+ draw controls in three straight games. Sophomore goalkeeper Regan Spichiger got the start and win behind a 14-save performance, which was double her previous career high of seven saves.
ASU leads the Big 12 in assists per game (8.86), draw controls per game (19), points per game (24.57), and shots per game (34.29).
Scouting the Opponent:
Akron has posted a 5-1 start to the year, coming off a 2025 season where they won the MAC conference and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. They average 12.17 goals per game and hold opponents to an 8.87 goals per game average. In just two road contests this season, they are 2-0 with wins over Butler and Xavier.

- With one goal and five assists on Thursday, senior attacker Jordyn Behar extended her point-scoring streak to 26 games, which dates back to the first game of the 2025 season.
- Spichiger's 14 saves were a single-game career high and were a team-high single-game mark by ASU this season.
- ASU averages 16.5 goals per game at home this season, and is one goal away from reaching 100 goals in Tempe.
- Viglione is two draw controls away from reaching 100 draw controls on the season.
