IRVING, Texas – Following another perfect weekend and a 10-0 start to the season, redshirt seniors Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin are this week’s Big 12 Pair of the Week, the second of the season for Sun Devil Beach Volleyball.
For Kirunchyk, this is her second Big 12 Pair of the Week honor after winning one last year. This is Morin’s first conference weekly award. In the first week of the season, Olivia McElroy and Kendall Whitmarsh won the award.
Kirunchyk and Morin are 10-0 on the year, all played on the top court. Over the weekend, they helped Arizona State improve to 10-0, which is the best start to a season in program history and the longest winning streak. As a duo, this is the second-longest winning streak by a pair in team history.
At the Sun Devil Classic, Kirunchyk and Morin with 4-0. Against No. 19 Arizona, the dual was tied at 2-2 with their court the final one in action. In a third set, Kirunchyk and Morin clinched the dual for the rivalry win. Their other three wins were all sweeps.
Arizona State is back on the road this week, traveling to Manhattan Beach, Calif. for the East Meets West Invitational.
