EUGENE - Despite holding a six-goal lead in the third quarter and scoring seven of the game's first 10 goals, Sun Devil Lacrosse (0-1) fell 12-11 to Oregon (1-0) in overtime in the season's first road test.

After the Sun Devil offense forced a goalie change for the Ducks just 15 minutes into the contest, the team could not convert on its chances, despite outshooting Oregon 22-20 following the switch.

How it happened
The Sun Devils used a five-goal quarter to mount a 5-1 lead after the first frame. Senior attacker Jordyn Behar netted the first goal of the season and had a team-high two goals in the quarter.

In the second quarter, ASU tacked on three more goals, from the lead attack trio in seniors Lydia Oldknow, Teagan Ng, and Behar, as Oregon started their comeback. The Ducks netted four goals to ASU's three to keep ASU's lead narrow, 8-5, at the half.

ASU tallied another three goals to reach double digits at 11 goals, and managed to outscore Oregon 3-2 in the frame. The lead headed into the fourth quarter was 11-7 in favor of Arizona State.

In the final frame, Oregon netted two quick goals in the opening minute of the quarter to pull within two. Eventually, the Ducks scored the equalizer with just under five minutes into the frame, and neither team could capitalize on offense; thus, it was an 11-11 game at the end of regulation.

With 15 seconds remaining in the first overtime, Oregon was awarded a free position attempt, and sophomore goalkeeper Regan Spichiger could not come up with the save to give ASU another chance on offense, leading to a 12-11 final result.
