TEMPE – Sun Devil Women’s Tennis returns to Whiteman Tennis Center in its only home match in the month of February to face San Diego on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. MST. Live stats can be tracked on StatBroadcast, matches are not streamed.
Graduate Vivian Ovrootsky has begun the dual season with a 3-0 record in singles in addition to Junior Emilija Tverijonaite, who has a 2-0 record this spring from the No. 1 position. The pair is 4-1 in doubles matches with two ranked victories. Last season, the Sun Devils swept San Diego, 4-0, at Hogan Tennis Center in San Diego.

Women’s Tennis went 1-1 during ITA Kickoff Weekend, beating TCU 4-2 in a non-conference match on Monday, Jan. 26, before falling to No. 2 Texas A&M 4-0 on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Tverijonaite took down TCU’s No. 84-ranked Raquel Caballero Chica 7-6 (4), 6-0 for her third ranked win of the season. In doubles, Evans and Taylor defeated No. 56 Caballero Chica and Ramos Sierra, 6-3, for their first ranked win, helping clinch the doubles point.
Tverijonaite and Ovrootsky notched their second-ranked win by beating No. 74 Gomez O’Hayon and Tsai, 6-4. Junior Sara Svetac returned to the lineup last week and clinched the victory against TCU with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win.
