TEMPE – To assist in putting a bow on preseason content, the below notebook contains preseason honors and accomplishments earned by the Sun Devil Softball program over the last month:
- Arizona State was picked to finish third in the Big 12 Conference, per the league’s preseason coaches’ poll that was released on Jan. 28. The Sun Devils were tied with Arizona for the spot after both programs received 77 points.

- Kenzie Brown and Tanya Windle were both selected to the Big 12 Conference’s Preseason All-Conference Team. Brown was one of seven student-athletes around the league who were selected to the team unanimously.
- Kenzie Brown became Arizona State’s first representative on the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List on Jan. 21. Overall, Brown became just the eighth Sun Devil in program history to be selected to the watch list.

- Freshman left-handed pitcher Mary Peyton Hodge was appointed to D1Softball’s D100 Freshman Watch List on Jan. 5. Hodge was one of 10 softball student-athletes around the Big 12 selected to the list.

- A season after being named a consensus All-American, Kenzie Brown picked up right where she left off as the fifth-year senior was named a Preseason First Team All-American by D1Softball and Preseason Second Team All-American by Softball America.
- JazMarie Roberts and Mary Peyton Hodge were both selected to Softball America’s Preseason Big 12 Freshman Watch List.
- Arizona State’s Kenzie Brown and Tanya Windle were both acknowledged in D1Softball’s Preseason Position Rankings. The publication listed Brown as the sixth-best pitcher in the country, while having Windle as the 22nd-best outfielder across the nation.
- Additionally, Softball America listed Kenzie Brown as the fifth-best pitcher in Division I softball in its preseason position rankings.
- Finally, Kenzie Brown found a place in both D1Softball and Softball America’s Preseason Top 100 Player Rankings: 16 (D1Softball) and No. 20 (Softball America).
Arizona State is set to begin its 2026 regular season on Thursday, Feb. 5, when the Sun Devils open the Kajikawa Classic at 12:45 p.m. MST against Toledo on ESPN+.
