TEMPE – The second of four-straight weekends on the road, Sun Devil Gymnastics will travel this weekend to Denton, Texas, at Texas Woman’s University to compete against TWU, Kent State and Oregon State on Sunday, Feb. 22, at Kitty Magee Arena.
This is Arizona State’s first of two quad meets at TWU (the other is on Feb. 27). This meet is replacing a previously canceled home meet against Iowa State. ASU will start the meet on floor.

Sun Devil outlook
Arizona State (4-3, 2-2 Big 12)
- The Sun Devils are coming off a 194.425 to 194.075 win against West Virginia this past weekend, where they swept all event titles.
- The team scored a 49.075 on floor, the third time this season scoring over a 49.000 on that event this season.
- Freshman Safia El Mammann is this week’s Big 12 Specialist of the Week. She is coming off a strong meet where she won event titles for vault (9.850) and beam (9.825), the only events she competed in. The vault score tied her career high, which she’s hit three times so far this season, while the beam score was her new personal best.
- Senior Kimberly Smith won three event titles last weekend: bars (9.850), floor (9.925) and the all-around (39.000). Her floor score tied her career high and is the highest score by a Gym Devil this season. She has remained consistent this season, scoring a 39.300 or better four times in the all-around. On floor, she has yet to score below a 9.800 and has two scores of 9.900 or better. On vault and bars, she has scored at least a 9.800 or better for the last five meets in a row.
- Freshman Kylee Bromley took home an event title as well with a 9.850 score on bars, matching her personal best.
- ASU assistant coach Kristen Harold will be returning to Texas Woman's after she was on the coaching staff there from 2017-24 before making the move to Arizona State.
Opponent outlook
Texas Woman’s University (4-9, 0-0 MIC)
- TWU posted a season-high team score of 196.100 on the road in its victory over Centenary last week. TWU’s best event was floor with a 49.250 score.
- Last season, the Pioneers finished the season 13-12 overall. They ended the 2025 season with a win in the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship for the 13th time in their program’s history. They also finished second in the 2025 Midwest Independent Conference Gymnastics Conference.
- The Gym Devils are 3-0 all-time against the Pioneers. Texas Woman’s University traveled to Tempe last season, where ASU won the meet 196.600 to 195.225.
Oregon State (4-7, 0-0 Pac-12)
- Oregon State fell to Southern Utah 196.825 to 196.300 at home last weekend. Despite the loss, the Beavers posted their best floor (49.400) and beam (49.350) scores.
- In 2025, the Beavers finished the season 16-11 overall.
- Oregon State holds a 28-7 all-time record over Arizona State. In their last meeting at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships, the Beavers placed fifth, beating the Sun Devils.
Kent State (6-6, 1-2 MIC)
- Kent State is coming off a loss to conference foe Central Michigan, 196.075 to 196.000, the highest score of the Flashes’ season so far.
- Last season, Kent State posted an 11-5 overall record and went 6-0 in the MAC. The team earned its 11th MAC Regular Season Championship title.
- The Sun Devils and Kent State last competed in the 2004 Central Regional Gymnastics Championships, where ASU scored 196.500, and Kent State placed sixth with a 194.850.
