IRVING, Texas – After winning two event titles at West Virginia over the weekend, freshman Safia El Mammann is this week’s Big 12 Specialist of the Week, the third weekly award this season for Sun Devil Gymnastics.
This is El Mammann’s first career weekly award. For Arizona State, it is the second specialist of the week honor this season after Reese Grolla won after the first week of competition.

El Mammann won the event title in the two events she competed in Morgantown last Saturday. She led off on vault with a 9.850 to win that title, her second-straight 9.850 and even title on that event. After not being in the beam lineup for a few weeks, El Mammann made her return and scored a team-best and career-high 9.825 to win that title as well, her first on beam.
