The Sun Devil Men’s Basketball team (10-8; 1-4) returns to Tempe this week to host West Virginia and Cincinnati after a 103-73 defeat at No. 7 Houston (17-1; 5-0) on Sunday evening at the Fertitta Center, a place that since renovated has resulted in six straight NCAA Tournament appearances and will get a seventh in 2026.

The game marked ASU’s third straight top-10 road game within its past four contests, as it has played at Houston, Arizona and BYU in the past 12 days.

The Sun Devils fell behind fast by a lot (33) but cut the lead to 79-66 with a 14-0 run before Houston settled and put the game way out of reach in the final five minutes for its 15th straight home win, as the Cougars made their final seven shots from the field.

ASU finished with 16 assists, the most by a Houston opponent all year, and its 73 points were the fourth-most by a Houston opponent on the year.

Andrija Grbovic posted double digits for the sixth time in the past 10 games after not having double digits in the first eight games. He finished with a season-best 14 points and is averaging 11.8 points in the past six games away from Tempe.
