TEMPE– Sun Devil Men’s Tennis is set to open the 2026 dual slate on Sunday, January 11 when they play host to Idaho at Whiteman Tennis Center at 1 p.m. MST. The Maroon and Gold are set to debut six new faces from the transfer portal in the first of six home matches in January.
Admission is free, and live stats are available here. Matches are not set to be live streamed. Doubles action kicks off at 1 p.m. with singles to follow.
SUN DEVIL NOTABLES:
- ASU returned four Sun Devils: Roi Ginat, Bor Artnak, Mathis Bondaz, and Constantinos Koshis.
- In the Big 12 Coaches Preseason Poll, ASU was selected to finish fifth out of nine teams.
- Sunday’s match marks the first of six matches spanning Jan. 11-20.
- Bondaz is slated to be the lone Sun Devil competing on Sunday among the returners.
- In 2024-25, ASU finished with a 12-12 record and was 7-4 when competing in Tempe.
- The six transfer students that joined the team over the summer included three sophomores, one junior, one senior, and one redshirt senior. ASU does not have a freshman on their roster.
PREVIEWING THE VANDALS:
- Idaho boasts a nine-man roster that includes three freshmen set to make their collegiate debuts.
- Last season the Vandals advanced to the second round of the Big Sky conference tournament but fell 4-2 to the No. 1-seeded NAU Lumberjacks
- Finished with an overall record of 12-10 in 2024-25 and had a 6-7 road record.
