Gym Devils gain experience in Maroon and Gold Showcase

TEMPE – Competing in Desert Financial Arena for the first time this season, Sun Devil Gymnastics saw returners and newcomers shine in front of fans in preparation for the 2026 season, which begins a week from today.

Senior Kimberly Smith was in midseason form, scoring a 9.800 or better on all four events for a 39.375 in the all-around. Her best score came on floor where she earned a 9.875, the best score of the day for any Sun Devil.

There were two 9.825s from freshmen in the showcase. Safia El Mammann started off the meet with a 9.825 in the lead-off spot on vault. On floor, Delanie Kelly also earned a 9.825.

Another Gym Devil in the all-around was freshman Kylee Bromley. Her best event was bars, where she scored a 9.750. 

Overall, the team scored a 193.550. The best event was vault, where ASU notched a 48.925.

Arizona State will start its season at home on Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. MST with a tri-meet against San Jose State and UC Davis.
