Men's Tennis Picks Up Program's First Big 12 Win with Sweep Over Texas Tech

TEMPE – No. 37 Sun Devil Men's Tennis (10-8, 1-2) defeated Texas Tech 4-0 on Friday night at Whiteman Tennis Center, marking the program's first Big 12 Conference win in history. After an hour-long doubles slate the team made quick work of TTU in singles, needing just 90 minutes to get the job done. 

Doubles action was thrilling as each match went to a tiebreaker. The pair of Matic Dimic and Mathis Bondaz got the job done on court three winning 7-6 (4), and Roi Ginat and Nicola Cigna soon followed to clinch the doubles point for the Sun Devils winning 7-6 (2).  

Already holding the advantage, Arizona State looked to pull away triumphantly in singles play. The Sun Devils saw first-set wins on all six courts, which was followed by three straight-set victories from Daniel Phillips, Nicola Cigna, and Roi Ginat to clinch the match 4-0.
