TEMPE – Two duos from Sun Devil Beach Volleyball will be competing in the 2025 AVCA Beach National Championships this weekend, Nov. 7-9, in Huntsville, Alabama, with Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin, and Reagan Hope and Olivia McElroy representing the Sand Devils.
The women’s championship features a 64-pair bracket—no pool play—and matches start on Friday and go through Sunday’s 12:45 PM ET final. For the second year in a row, key matches from the AVCA Beach National Championships will be streamed. Six matches from the women’s pairs event—two of the quarterfinals, both semifinals, the third-place match, and the championship—will be available at ESPN+. Another 20-plus matches will be available on AVCA YouTube.
For more information on the championships, the tournament central page is on the AVCA website.
Redshirt seniors Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin will be the top pair for Arizona State. The duo has had a successful fall season, winning the last two pair tournaments in the top division. In the 2025 season, both were named to the Big 12 All-Conference Team. Additionally, Morin earned AVCA Second Team All-America honors.
The second pair representing ASU is graduate Reagan Hope and junior Olivia McElroy. This is Hope’s first season with Arizona State after transferring from UCLA. For McElroy, she saw time at all five courts, compiling a 19-16 record in her first season with the Sun Devils. The transfer played in every dual last season and picked up eight ranked wins.
For those Sand Devils not attending AVCAs, they will be playing at the Lopes Fall Classic on Nov. 8-9, hosted by Grand Canyon in Phoenix.
