Sun Devil outlook
No. 8 Arizona State (18-3, 9-1 Big 12)
- The Sun Devils split their matches last weekend, first beating then-No. 13 TCU in four sets at home before traveling to Iowa State and falling short in a five-set battle for the first conference loss of the season.
 - Arizona State is 9-0 at home this season and 31-2 at home under head coach JJ Van Niel’s three seasons. There have been five matches this season with more than 3,000 in attendance, including three with over 4,000.
 - The block continues to be a strong asset in Arizona State’s game. There have been 12 matches with double-digit blocks this season. At Iowa State, ASU had 15, the second-most in a match this season. The Sun Devils have had double-digit blocks in seven of the 10 Big 12 matches.
 - Leading the charge on the block has been graduate middle blocker Colby Neal, who already has 112 on the year. She has had five or more blocks in 14 matches this season, including the last two matches where she notched nine in each.
 - Noemie Glover and Bailey Miller have been a dynamic duo on offense. Glover has had double-digit kills in the last 10-straight matches, while Miller has reached 10 or more in the last six. Both are over 200 kills this season, with Glover leading by just one kill at 249. Miller leads the team in double-doubles with eight on the year, adding another at Iowa State.
 - The Sun Devils lead the Big 12 in two categories: blocks per set (2.82) and opponent hitting percentage (.167). Nationally, blocks per set is 11th and opponent clip is 22nd.
 - Random but fun: ASU has the exact same number of kills and digs: 1,022. Thus, the Sun Devils also have the same number of kills per set and digs per set: 13.27.

Opponent outlook
Texas Tech (10-12, 2-8 Big 12)
- Last week, the Red Raiders picked up their first conference wins. Texas Tech beat UCF on the road and swept Arizona at home.
 - ASU leads 6-3 in the all-time series against Texas Tech. In last season’s first Big 12 matchup between the teams, Arizona State swept Texas Tech in Lubbock. The Red Raiders had won the previous two before that, most recently in 2022.

No. 21 BYU (18-5, 6-5 Big 12)
- The Cougars were at home for two matches last weekend, first falling to UCF before sweeping Kansas State.
 - ASU and BYU met earlier this season in Provo, with the Sun Devils winning in a five-set thriller. The Cougars still lead in the all-time series, 18-8, but the Sun Devils have won the last four in a row.
