Arizona State has done quite well when it comes to recruiting and developing international players.
France's Oscar Couilleau has put pen to paper to join the club.
Currently ranked No. 66 in the World Amateur Rankings playing in the PGA Tour's Butterfield Bermuda Championship, the Paris native will join the program in fall of 2026. He has earned the Monroe Invitational Champion and took third at the World Amateur Team Championships, as well as earning European Men's Club Trophy champion honors.
He captured the 2025 Monroe Invitational title with a 14-under 266 (67-69-64-66) at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, N.Y. Couilleau earned a four-shot victory,as his 64 put him into the lead and he never looked back.
Couilleau also finished tied for fourth at the Copa de Andalucia, fourth at the Portuguese International Amateur, and reached the Final 64 at the British Amateur. He also tied for 29th at the Lytham Trophy.

He simply is one the most highly ranked players Coach Thurmond has signed since his arrival in summer of 2026, and Oscar is jsut as excited to get to ASU as the Sun Devils are to have him.
“Becoming a Sun Devil is a huge honor and an incredible opportunity," he says. "I’m excited to join the team and win some events with the guys. It’s a dream come true, and I’m very grateful for that.”

“Oscar is already one of the world’s top amateurs and is a huge talent combined with exceptional training," notes Thurmond, a 2024 GCAA Hall of Fame inductee. "He plays with a huge smile and loves competing. We’ve been very excited about the possibility of him being a Sun Devil since the first time we saw him play many years ago, and now he’s officially here!”
How good has ASU been on the international stage? Since Thurmond took over, take a look his All-Americans, with international players in italics.
