HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Sun Devil Beach Volleyball’s redshirt seniors Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin finished in a tie for seventh at the 2025 AVCA Beach National Championships over the weekend in Huntsville, Alabama, reaching the quarterfinals of the championship bracket.

The seventh-place finish by No. 9 seed Kirunchyk and Morin is the highest finish for Arizona State at the championships in the four years of its existence. To reach the quarterfinals, they beat pairs from South Florida, Stetson and Loyola Marymount. ASU’s top duo eventually fell to the overall No. 1 seed of Cal Poly.

Graduate Regan Hope and junior Olivia McElroy also competed at the AVCA National Championships, going 2-3 over the weekend.

Meanwhile in Phoenix, the rest of the team competed at Grand Canyons’ Lopes Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Pairs were mixed up and received valuable experience playing together.

There is one last tournament this fall, which is the Kauai Invitational from Nov. 21-22.
