Women’s Tennis slated to host annual Thunderbird Invitational this weekend

TEMPE – Sun Devil Tennis is set to host the annual Thunderbird Invitational this weekend at Whiteman Tennis Center beginning Friday, October 31st through Sunday, November 2nd. Hosting six teams, ASU will be joined by Arizona, NAU, GCU, San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and SMU.

The invitational will begin at 10 a.m. MST both Friday and Saturday, opening with a round of doubles (eight matches) followed by two rounds of single’s matches. Sunday’s round of play will begin at 9 a.m. to finish off the weekend.

The Sun Devils making an appearance are Emilija Tverijonaite, Sara Svetac, Lily Taylor, Vivian Ovrootsky and Zlata Bartanusz. Tverijonaite is coming off a third-place finish at ITA Southwest Regionals last week, earning her an alternate spot for the NCAA Singles Championships.

No livestream will be available for this event but fans can follow along through the tournament homepage on the ITA website. Admission is free for this event.
