Quotes
Head Coach JJ Van Niel
Opening Statement:
“Obviously just aside from the second set, we played a pretty solid match. We had contributions,  kind of from everywhere, a nice balanced offense. I was very happy with our middles and right sides for kind of taking advantage of a lot of open space that they had. The crowd was fun; 942 came and they were great as always. It's really fun to play in front of a big crowd, it makes the environment really fun to be around.”

On competing in the Big 12:
“The Big 12 is a tough conference this year, so we know we have to be prepared every night. I think our team's been really good at being focused on just the next match. My staff knows I don't like talking ahead. I don't like looking forward and we try to make sure we control what we can control, which is just a very nice match.”

On the 12-game winning streak:
“I think different players have stepped up at different times, and I do feel like the things we've been working on to get better at is translating on the court. It's turned out to wins. I think one of the things of the team this year that to me has been most impressive is, fighting even when your backs against the wall. We've got a lot of times where I would have thought we would have lost, and late in the set, people are making big plays and they've been really resilient.”

On the energy playing at home continuing the undefeated record:
"Our team loves playing in front of them, we've got a great crowd, they're loud. One of the things I was excited about when I took this opportunity was DFA because I think that environment is great. I don't know if it's because it's old, not cement, but it's loud. When you're the opponent, you walk in, back then ASU was only getting maybe 1,000 people at those matches. It was still loud and the 942 is in your ear and it's like having a seventh person on the court. It's fun, I think people love playing for people, it's fun.”

Graduate Middle Blocker Colby Neal
On playing at home after three road games:
“It's always nice to have people cheering alongside you, cheering you on, getting excited when you have a good play. It also just gives us motivation to protect our house. These people came and showed up for us, so we wanna show out for them.”

On improving after the second set:
“I think in the second set, we were a little bit sloppy. We definitely weren't holding ourselves to the same standard as we usually do. Also, TCU is a really good team, so if we're not doing our best, they're going to take advantage of that, like you saw. But luckily, we were able to come back in the third and the fourth and be disciplined and intentional again.”

Sophomore Libero Faith Frame
On what to improve on halfway through Big 12 play:
“I think there's a lot of things that we're still pushing to improve on. The big one is maintaining the same energy throughout the game, not starting high and then going low and then back up, just maintaining. Where we play our best is at that medium energy level so I think working on keeping that energy level throughout the whole entire game is a big one.”

On playing tough matchups every week:
“I think it's really good that we're playing such good teams right now. It's obviously preparing us for the postseason later on, the tournament, so I think playing these good teams now is just preparing us, and it's been really fun.”
