TROUTMAN, North Carolina – Competing at the East Regional Qualifier for the first time in five seasons, Sun Devil Triathlon took home second place after finishing with 617 points, five points shy of Queens University of Charlotte, which was crowned champion. Though there were no podium finishes for ASU, both Alex Campbell (1:03:35) and Naomi Ruff (1:03:39) finished in the top five, with Britney Brown (1:04:30) in the top 10 following her 10th-place finish.

Just outside of the top 10 was Zoe Mari Adam, who was the fourth Sun Devil finisher in 11th place with her time of 1:04:37. Alice Alessandri was just three runners back in 14th to end the day, finishing with a time of 1:05:15.

 

 

Grouped together, respectively, at 17 and 18 were freshmen Sonja De Koning (1:06:01) and Luna Sraka (1:06:16). The duo rounded out the group of top-20 finishes. 

Finally, Hope Frost finished 33rd (1:09:01), and Madison Judas ended the day for the Sun Devils with her 40th-place finish after crossing the finish line in 1:11:05. 

Up next

The lone race of the season remains, as the National Championship returns to Tempe on Saturday, November 8. The seven Sun Devil racers are to be announced, but the group is scheduled to race at 10:30 a.m. MST. Tempe Town Lake and the surrounding roads are home to the 2025 National Championship course.
