Ilya Kharun in second place after second leg of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup
TEMPE – Sun Devil Swimmer Ilya Kharun sits in second place in the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup after competing in the second stop in Westmont, Ill. Kharun earned gold three times throughout the second stop in the Men’s 50m Freestyle, Men’s 50m Butterfly and Men’s 200m Butterfly. He also earned silver in Men’s 100m Butterfly.
During his first stop in Carmel, Ind., Kharun earned gold in the Men’s 50m and 200m Butterfly. He also notched silver in the Men's 100m Butterfly and bronze in the Men's 50m Freestyle.
The Las Vegas native is now in his third year of repping the Maroon and Gold, emphasizing gold, with his most recent wins adding to his hardware collection. Kharun now holds a combined six gold medals, seven silver and seven bronze medals. At the World Championships in Singapore this past July, he won a bronze medal in the 100m fly in 50.07.
Kharun will compete in the final stop of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup, which will take place in Toronto from October 23 to 25.
