TUCSON, Ariz. – The top duo of redshirt seniors Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin won the gold bracket at the Arizona Fall Classic over the weekend, while four other pairs from Sun Devil Beach Volleyball finished in the top two spots of their divisions.
Kirunchyk and Morin proved themselves against tough competition for the second week in a row. This weekend, they beat pairs from Grand Canyon and Arizona. They beat a pair from GCU in three sets to take first place.
In the next division, two pairs from Arizona State took first and second. Seniors Arden Besecker and Kendall Whitmarsh teamed up, as did junior Kristin Gilmour and sophomore Zoë Taylor.
Lastly, freshman Emma McSorley and junior Kaydon Meyers were set against freshman Tatum Hemenway and junior Addy White were first and second in their division.
The Sand Devils get a week off before hosting the Sun Devil Fall Classic from November 1-2. Matches will be played all throughout both days, roughly 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and it will be free to the public.
