TEMPE – Sun Devil Women’s Tennis will make two appearances this week at the USTA SoCal Tennis Championships and the 2025 ITA Women’s All American Championship.

Junior Emilija Tverijonaite will play in her first fall tournament starting Wednesday in the main draw for the ITA All-American Championship in Cary, North Carolina. The tournament is part of qualifying for the NCAA Championships in November, where ten singles players will earn spots in the NCAA Singles Championships (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists).

In 2008, Kelcy McKenna won the ITA All-American title in singles. Last year, Tverijonaite qualified for the NCAA Singles tournament at the ITA Southwest Regional tournament by winning the third-place match. The junior is six wins away from 50 career singles wins.

Her teammates, Karin Altori and Zlata Bartanusz, will play both singles and doubles at the USTA SoCal Tennis Championships played on the campus of San Diego until Sunday.

In 2024, Tverijonaite won the singles title and only dropped one set for the entire tournament. Sara Svetac and Patricija Spaka won the doubles title at the event.
