TEMPE – On the heels of one of the biggest wins in program history last week, Sun Devil Soccer will look to continue to capitalize on its current momentum when the Oklahoma State Cowgirls visit Sun Devil Soccer Stadium for a Big 12 Conference matchup at 7 p.m. MST on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Television

  • Those wanting to watch Arizona State and Oklahoma State’s women’s soccer match can find the action on ESPN+ on various streaming platforms, including the ESPN app.
  • Ryan Sykora (play-by-play) and Adrian Pelayo (analyst) will serve as the broadcast talent.

Series history

  • Thursday’s match will mark the first time Arizona State and Oklahoma State’s soccer programs have met on a soccer pitch since Friday, September 18, 2015, when the Cowgirls took a 3-2 result over the Sun Devils in Stillwater, Okla.
  • Arizona State will be looking for its first win over Oklahoma State since September 5, 2014, when the Sun Devils bested the Cowgirls, 2-0, on goals from a pair of midfielders, Lucy Lara and Aly Moon.
  • Neither program has won on the road: 2014 (Arizona State won in Tempe, Ariz.) and 2015 (Oklahoma State won in Stillwater, Okla.)
  • Whoever wins Thursday’s matchup will take a one-match lead on the all-time series record, as both teams begin the action with a 1-1-0 record against each other.
  • Arizona State’s Chandler Morris is the only goalkeeper in either program’s history to earn a clean sheet during the series' history. Morris made five saves and allowed zero goals over 90 minutes in ASU’s 2-0 win on Sept. 5, 2014.

Kicking off

  • If Arizona State earns a win over Oklahoma State on Thursday, the Sun Devils will extend their current winning streak to eight consecutive matches, the longest winning streak in program history since a program-record 12-match streak from October 31, 1999, to September 24, 2000, was posted.
  • A win or tie for Arizona State would extend its current nine-match unbeaten streak to 10 matches in a row, marking the first double-digit unbeaten streak by the Sun Devils since October 31, 1999, to September 24, 2000, when ASU went 12-0-0.
  • Arizona State will enter Thursday’s match riding a six-match home winning streak, which is one shy of tying for the second-longest streak in program history, set during the 2003 campaign (September 19 – November 2).
  • An Arizona State win over Oklahoma State would move the Sun Devils’ season record to 9-0-1, which would best the 2000 team (9-1-0) for the best start to a season through 10 matches in program history.
  • Arizona State is looking for its first win in a game after beating a nationally ranked opponent since Friday, September 17, 2021, when the Sun Devils beat Colorado College, 1-0 in double overtime, after knocking off then-No. 21 Texas Tech, 3-2, on Sunday, September 12. ASU has not beaten a ranked team at home, then won the following match at home, too, since the 2018 season, when it beat then-No. 12 Washington State, 3-1, on Thursday, October 18, before beating Washington, 2-1, on Sunday, October 21.
