IRVING, Texas – Following a strong start to the season with No. 7 Sun Devil Volleyball, junior opposite Noemie Glover is the first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week this year.
This is the first weekly award of Glover’s career. For Arizona State, it’s the second Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week nod, joining Geli Cyr’s honor last season on October 1. Overall, this is ASU’s sixth Big 12 weekly award. This weekly award only counted matches through Sunday and does not count the Sun Devils’ match on Monday.
Glover had double-digit kills in every match to start the season. She opened with 17 kills in the win at Northern Iowa, which was a career high. Then she followed that up with 22 kills in the upset over defending national champions then-No. 2 Penn State. In that statement win, she also had 10 blocks to match her career high and give her a double-double the hard way. Between the two matches, she hit .372.
Up next, the Sun Devils will be home for the first time this season on Friday and Sunday, hosting the Nore-Stahl Classic at Desert Financial Arena. ASU will host Florida Gulf Coast on Friday for the home opener before taking on Loyola Marymount on Sunday.
