TEMPE – No. 1 Sun Devil Triathlon is set to compete in the Duel in the Desert, hosted by the University of Arizona, on Saturday September 20. The race is the first of its kind, as the first home event hosted by Arizona triathlon, and marks the last of the regular season before the East Regional Qualifier in October.
Scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. MST, the course consists of a 200m swim, 4.64k bike, and 1.35k run. There will be a preliminary round at 7 a.m. which will determine the racers in the final round at 9 a.m. The top six from each heat will make the cut followed by the next four fastest times.
ASU took home first place in their previous race at the Desert’s Edge Collegiate Cup, as the Sun Devils saw two podium finishes and three racers in the top four.
