LOMA, Colo. – Sun Devil Triathlon claimed first place at the Desert’s Edge Collegiate Cup after Naomi Ruff (2nd) and Sidney Clement (3rd) saw podium finishes on Sunday Morning. Seven of 10 ASU racers accounted for the 295 points as ASU topped Arizona and USF, who were the second and third place teams, respectively. 

Ruff and Clement led the charge as Ruff finished in 1:03:12 followed by Clement’s 1:03:26 finish to secure second and third place. After a first-place finish in the Southern Hills Super Sprint, Alex Campbell placed fourth (1:03:42) to count as ASU’s third scorer. 

One more Sun Devil finished in the top 10, and it was Britney Brown’s 1:04:17 finish that secured 10th place as the fourth Sun Devil scorer. 

Zoe Mari Adam finished 21st in her first race of the season after a 1:06:37 time, and freshman Luna Sraka followed in her second career race with a time of 1:07:22 to place 26th. 

Alice Alessandri was the seventh finisher to cap off scoring with a 28th-place finish after crossing the line in 1:07:53. 

The final three Sun Devils to race placed 43-45, respectively, as Hope Frost (1:12:10), Jade Allen (1:13:27), and Madison Judas (1:13:34) capped off the day in Loma, Colorado.

ASU will travel to Tucson, Arizona for an in-state matchup against the University of Arizona, who is hosting the Duel in the Desert race on Saturday, September 20. The race kicks off at 7 a.m. MST.
