Set One: Penn State 25, ASU 21
It was a battle from the start, neither team able to create separation. A long rally early on went in favor of ASU with Miller terminating to tie it at 5-5. Back-to-back kills from Glover and Miller evened the set again at 14-14. The Nittany Lions went on a 6-2 run to build a solid lead, going up 21-16. However, Glover caught fire to drive ASU to four-straight points and get within one, down 21-20. Penn State went on a 4-1 run to close out the set, 25-21.

Set Two: ASU 25, Penn State 23
The second set started with ASU going up 5-1 behind three early blocks. However, Penn State responded by scoring five-straight points to take the 7-6 lead. The Sun Devils took the lead at 13-12 following Miller’s second ace of the match, but the Nittany Lions scored three in a row to get back in front, 15-13. ASU made it a one-point game with a well-placed tip from Colby Neal, down 17-16, and it was close from there. A rally that was over a minute long went in favor of ASU with a Kiylah Presley tool ending it to go up 19-18. Glover’s kill got a sideout and a PSU error made it set point, 24-22. Glover’s 11th kill won the set, 25-23.

Set Three: ASU 25, Penn State 20
The first start of the set was back and forth with a handful of missed serves between both teams. With Jillian Neal serving, the Sun Devils went on a 6-0 run to 15-9, a run which saw three blocks. Aided by ASU errors, PSU climbed back into it, making it a two-point game at 20-18 and bringing a timeout from Arizona State to stop any momentum. Three points in a row for the Sun Devils, capped off by a block from Glover and Lomigora, made it 23-18. To win the set, Tatum’s tip found the ground, making it 25-20 and a 2-1 match lead.

Set Four: ASU 31, Penn State 29
It was close to start the fourth frame until Lomigora served the Sun Devils on a 3-0 run to go up 11-9. Miller killed the ball down the line to extend the lead to 15-12 heading into the media timeout. However, out of the timeout, Penn State scored four in a row to take the 16-15 lead and force an Arizona State timeout. After some point trading for a little while, Parrott and Neal teamed up for a block to make it 20-18 for ASU. The Nittany Lions responded with a 4-0 run, going up 22-20. A PSU error tied it at 22-20. It was back and forth until the end, with the set going to extra points. Battling off two Penn State set points, a kill from Glover set up set point and an error from PSU won it, 31-29.
