TEMPE – Sun Devil Women’s Tennis has announced its fall 2025 schedule, which includes the annual Thunderbird Invitational at Whiteman Tennis Center slated for Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.

Similar to 2024, players will compete in a variety of ITA tournaments this fall to earn bids into the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships to take place on Nov. 18-23 at the USTA (United States Tennis Association) National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

The Sun Devils will open their fall campaign at the Battle of the Bay, taking place in San Francisco, California, starting Sept. 11-14. Then they will compete in the SoCal Championships in San Diego on Sept. 19-21 on the campus of the University of San Diego. Last year, Emilija Tverijonaite won the singles title and doubles pair Sara Svetac and Patricija Spaka took home the doubles title.

The first ITA tournament of the fall is taking place in Cary, North Carolina at the ITA All-American Championships, starting Sept. 20 and ending on Sept. 28. Various Sun Devils will compete at the ITF San Rafael W35 tournament in California beginning Sept. 29 and wrapping up Oct. 5.

The team will remain in California to compete in the ITF Redding W35 tournament in Redding on Oct. 6-12. Then, in the second ITA event of the fall, the team will compete in ITA Regionals in San Diego on Oct. 16-21. Last year, junior Emilija Tverijonaite finished in third place in singles to secure an NCAA singles tournament bid, becoming the first Sun Devil to make the NCAA Singles Tournament since 2021.

Following a week of training, the team will host the Thunderbird Invitational from Oct. 31-Nov. 2, hosting a number of schools and players for three days of singles and doubles play.

The Sun Devils will have another chance to qualify for the NCAA singles and doubles Championships at the ITA Sectionals and/or Masters tournament set for Nov. 6-9. in Seattle, Washington or San Diego, California, respectively.

The NCAA Singles and Doubles championships are set for Nov. 19-24 in Orlando, Florida to cap off the fall season.

About the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships
In January of 2023, the NCAA Division I Competition Oversight Committee approved a two-year pilot program to hold the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Individual Championships in the fall of 2024 and 2025. The ITA office, along with the NCAA Singles & Doubles Pathway Task Force (consisting of ITA member coaches), has worked diligently over the past several years to create a clearly defined and accessible pathway for student-athletes to earn entry into the fall 2025 NCAA Individual Championships.
