Six Pro Bowls. Three All-Pro Selections. Two Rings of Honor. One Hall of Famer. 

Former Sun Devil Football defensive back, Eric Allen, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, becoming the sixth member from ASU to don the gold jacket. 

From 1984-1987, Allen played all four years of college football at Arizona State, finishing his college career with a 30-15-2 record, one Pac-10 title and a victory in the 1987 Rose Bowl. Taken with the 30th pick in the 1993 NFL Draft, he played 14 seasons in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles (7), New Orleans Saints (3) and Oakland Raiders (4) before hanging it up in 2002.

Allen helped Sun Devil Football secure its first and only Rose Bowl victory over Michigan in 1987 by a score of 22-15.

He was named First Team All-Pro in 1989. The Eagles defensive back secured eight interceptions and 48 combined tackles in just his second season in the NFL to receive the nod.

The former Sun Devil made an immediate impact in his freshman season at ASU, securing two interceptions in 1984.

Allen is the only player in NFL history to record 3+ pick-6s in two different seasons.

The 2025 Pro Football Hall of Famer played for three NFL franchises in his professional career. He spent his first seven years with the Philadelphia Eagles before a three-year stint on the New Orleans Saints and played his final four seasons with the Oakland Raiders.

The Sun Devil Football legend spent all four of his college career at ASU, raking in 15 interceptions, 256 total interception return yards and two touchdowns.

Allen returned four interceptions for touchdowns with the Eagles in 1993, tied for the most in a single season in NFL history until 2023.

Allen recorded five interceptions in his rookie season in the NFL. His impactful contribution helped him earn a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) 1988 All-Rookie Team.

Allen earned six Pro Bowl selections in his NFL career.

He became the sixth Sun Devil to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Allen recorded eight interceptions in his senior season at ASU in 1987. The feat stands as the fifth-best single-season interceptions total in Sun Devil Football history and the most by an ASU cornerback in the Pac-10/12 era.

Allen ranks T-8th all time in career pick-6s (8).
