TEMPE – From Cannes, France, Maéva Schalk, an alternate for the France in the 2024 Olympics, has signed with Sun Devil Volleyball, set to join the team in August for the 2025 season.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Maéva to our Sun Devil family,” said Head Coach JJ Van Niel. “Her experience on the international stage brings a level of competitiveness and maturity that will elevate our gym from day one. We believe Maéva is a perfect fit, not just as a player, but as a person. We’re excited to see the impact she’ll have both on and off the court.”

- Has been part of the French program since 2017 and was an alternate at the 2024 Paris Olympics for the French national team.
- Has won French Championships in 2017 (U13), 2018 (U15, UNSS), 2019 (U18) and 2023 (U18, Pro A).
- Made the French National Teams for U19 and U20.
- In 2019, she was named the best server at the European Championships for U16.
- Played in the VNL in 2024 and 2025.
- Played club for Volero le Cannet.
- Parents are Marc and Virginie, and she has two siblings Matteo and Ethan.
- Her parents were professional volleyball players and her older brother Matteo currently plays professionally in France.
