TEMPE – Sun Devil Track and Field will be heading down south this weekend to compete at the Desert Heat in Tucson.
At the previous meet, senior Brandon Lloyd delivered a standout performance, claiming victories in both the shot put and discus. He set a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 20.43m, which ranks him No. 4 all-time in Sun Devil history. In the discus, he secured the win with a throw of 58.15m, leading the way for the team in the field events.
On top of Lloyd's performance, Sun Devil Track and Field secured two other titles with one in the 4x400 relay, where the team of Mateo Medina, Malik Franklin, Nicholas Ramey, and Jayden Davis clocked a winning time of 3:05.96. On the women's side, senior Beatrice Honebrink claimed first in the 5000m with a time of 18:27.28, leading the way in the distance events.
