TEMPE – One night after Sun Devil Softball took down Kansas 6-1, the Jayhawks flipped the script and evened the series with an 8-0 six-inning affair at Farrington Stadium.
Meika Lauppe held Kansas to one unearned run on four hits with four strikeouts over the first four innings. The visitors blew the game open with six runs in the fifth inning and then added the decisive run in the sixth.
Arizona State didn't record its first hit until the fourth when Ashleigh Mejia singled. AJ Murphy and Tiare Ho-Ching singled in the fifth, but ASU could not generate a run. The team's final hit came from Kelsey Hall in the sixth.
