TEMPE  –  Sun Devil Women's Tennis (12-6, 7-3 Big 12) bounced back against TCU (12-8, 6-4 Big 12) to secure its sixth sweep of the season. The Sun Devils have won 44 of the last 48 matches at Whiteman Tennis Center since the start of the 2022 season.

Lily Taylor and Sara Svetac kicked things off in doubles with a clean 6-0 win on court two. Fighting hard against the No. 25 pair in the country, Patricija Spaka and Karin Altori came up just short, falling 6-4. 

With the doubles point on the line, Aiya Nupbay and Emilija Tverijonaite trailed 5-4. The Sun Devil duo battled back to break the Horned Frogs' serve twice en route to a 7-5 win to claim the opening point of the match, putting ASU ahead 1-0.

The Sun Devils were able to carry their momentum in the singles matches. No. 43 Sara Svetac began the surge with a 6-4, 6-1 victory followed by Aiya Nupbay winning her fifth singles match of the spring 6-1, 6-3. Patricija Spaka then clinched match for the Sun Devils with a 6-4, 6-1 win for her 60th career singles win as a Sun Devil.

The maroon and gold will look to wrap up the season with a perfect home record on Sunday as they take on No. 27 Baylor for Spaka's Senior Day Celebration. 

Sun Devil Notables:
  • Senior Patricija Spaka earned her 60th career singles win of her career, becoming the 38th Sun Devil in program history to win 60 singles matches.
  • Sara Svetac won her 10th dual match of the season, moving to 10-3 this spring. She is riding a four-match winning streak going into Sunday.
  • Aiya Nupbay continues her winning ways with her fifth victory of the spring and her first from the #5 spot.
  • Tverijonaite and Nupbay move to 7-6 as a doubles pair this spring and garner a 5-2 record in Big 12 play.
  • The Sun Devils are 10-1 when Svetac wins her doubles match and the team is 10-2 when securing the doubles point this season.
