TEMPE – Sun Devil Men's Tennis was victorious 4-2 against No. 61 BYU on Thursday night, winning their third straight match and improving to 12-8 on the year with a 3-3 record in conference play. Freshman Tanner Povey stepped up big time for ASU, taking the last two sets from the third position, winning 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 to mark the first clinch of his career.

In doubles action, the Sun Devils got out to leads on all three courts. After Nicola Cigna and Roi Ginat closed out their opponents 6-1 from the second position, Bor Artnak and Daniel Phillips downed BYU's #38 doubles pair 6-3 to provide ASU with the doubles point.

ASU took the first two points in singles with wins by Roi Ginat and Bor Artnak. With just one more point needed to complete the victory, the Sun Devils pushed for the clincher. The Cougars didn't make it easy as they claimed two consecutive points to stay alive. However, the comeback attempt fell short when Tanner Povey secured the match for ASU with a victory in three sets.
