LOS ANGELES – No. T-10 Sun Devil Water Polo (17-8, 1-5 MPSF) begin their postseason debut this weekend as they compete in the first round of the MPSF Tournament against No. T-2 Stanford (19-1, 5-1 MPSF) at Spieker Aquatics Center Apr. 25-27.
The first of three rounds begins on Friday afternoon for the Sun Devils as they prepare to face the Cardinal at 12:45 p.m. Depending on the outcome of the game, they will either play at 11:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Their Sunday fate will be determined by their Saturday performance.

2025 MPSF TOURNAMENT
The 2025 MPSF Women's Water Polo Championship Tournament will be hosted by UCLA at Spieker Aquatics Center, April 25-27. UCLA is the defending MPSF and NCAA Champion. The MPSF has captured 28 national championships in women's water polo.

The Sun Devils dropped their third game in a row over the weekend, falling to No. 1 USC 13-18. Millie Quin once again led the way for ASU, notching six goals and three assists. Itziar Almeda added on three goals of her own, while picking up five assists. Down 18-9, the Sun Devils scored four goals in the final five minutes of the game, but weren't able to complete the comeback.
HISTORY VS. THE CARDINAL
ASU is 1-33 against Stanford all-time, with the only win coming in 2021. The two teams met up earlier this season, with the Cardinal taking the match 18-12.

- The Sun Devils dropped their third consecutive game this weekend, falling to No. 1 USC 18-13. Despite strong efforts from junior Millie Quin and freshman Itziar Almeda, who scored six and three goals each, ASU could not pull off the upset.
- Quin continues to lead the team in goals and points, while Almeda sits second. Almeda also leads the team with assists, and Quin is second.
- Junior Sophie Shorter-Robinson had two goals against the Trojans, and she is currently third on the team in goals scored.
- ASU is 4-5 in its last nine games, with all five losses coming against ranked opponents. The Sun Devils came in fifth in the MPSF Tournament last season, and will look to improve on that performance this time.
No. T-2 Stanford (19-1, 5-1 MPSF)
- The Cardinal picked up a win over No. 5 California over the weekend, their 17th ranked win of the season.
- Their only loss came against then-No. 2 USC earlier in the season.
- Stanford was 19-7 in 2024, with a 4-2 mark in MPSF play. The squad finished third in the MPSF Championships, then fell to the eventual national champions, UCLA, in the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament
